Why this exists
Government schemes are announced with numbers. Those numbers are then audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General, published on official dashboards, and revised. Most people see the first number and never the rest.
Audit India puts them side by side, with the source for each, so a reader can see the whole picture rather than one slice of it.
What we are not
We are not a campaign. We do not rate governments, parties, ministers or states, and we do not publish anything we cannot source to a primary document.
We check claims. That is the whole scope.
Funding and ownership
This section must be completed before launch. It should name who owns and operates the site, who funds it, and any funding received in the last financial year, with amounts.
We accept no funding from political parties, candidates, or government bodies.
