The figures are their publishers', not ours
Every number on Audit India is quoted from a named source: CAG reports, ECI election affidavits (via MyNeta.info), PIB press releases, ADR disclosure analyses, and the publishers of international indices. We reproduce what those documents say and link to them. We do not audit, correct, or adjust the underlying figures.
Affidavit data is declared, not verified
Assets, liabilities, criminal cases, and education shown for MPs, MLAs, and ministers come from each candidate's own sworn election affidavit. A criminal case count is a count of cases the candidate declared as pending — it is not a conviction, and it says nothing about guilt. Affidavits reflect the election year in which they were filed and may be out of date.
Scheme claims are documented, not endorsed
Where we list a government claim (for example, a PIB press release), listing it means the claim was made and is on record — not that it is true. Where we list a CAG finding, the finding is the CAG's, quoted with its report number.
We do not score anyone
Audit India assigns no ratings, rankings, severity grades, or composite scores to any government, party, or person. Where a rank appears on this site it belongs to the index publisher named beside it.
Errors
If a figure on this site does not match its cited source, that is our error and we will correct it. See Corrections for how to report one.
