The payments continue and the amount has not moved. The Ministry of Agriculture told Parliament on 4 August 2026 that ₹4.47 lakh crore has been disbursed through 23 instalments, with the June 2026 instalment reaching 9.54 crore beneficiaries. The manifesto's own claim of '11+ crore farmers… receiving ₹6,000 annually' is a cumulative count of everyone ever enrolled rather than the number paid in any instalment, which has run between 9 and 10 crore. And the promise is to sustain, not to increase: ₹6,000 a year set in 2019 buys materially less in 2026, and neither the manifesto nor the scheme provides for indexation.
“11+ crore farmers are receiving ₹6,000 annually under the PM KISAN… Strengthening PM KISAN — We are providing annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. We are committed to sustained financial support for our farmers.”No CAG performance audit published
No CAG performance audit covering this scheme has been published. The absence of an audit is not evidence that the claim is either accurate or inaccurate.

₹4.47 lakh crore disbursed through 23 instalments; 9.54 crore beneficiaries in the June 2026 instalment
The instalment amount has been ₹2,000 three times a year since the scheme began in February 2019 and has not been revised.
Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2633, Impact of PM-KISAN Scheme — answer by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
The 2024 manifesto's PM-KISAN promise is a continuation promise, and it should be read as one: "We are providing annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. We are committed to sustained financial support for our farmers." The achievements page adds a figure: "11+ crore farmers are receiving ₹6,000 annually under the PM KISAN."
On continuation, the record is clear. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare told the Lok Sabha on 4 August 2026 that "Government of India has disbursed over ₹4.47 lakh Cr. to the beneficiaries through 23 installments since inception of the Scheme", and a separate answer of 11 August 2026 records that "In the latest 23rd instalment released in June 2026, 9.54 Crore beneficiaries received the benefits of the Scheme." The instalments have kept coming, on schedule, throughout the term so far.
Two qualifications on the numbers.
The "11+ crore" in the manifesto is a cumulative figure — the number of farmers registered under the scheme at some point since 2019 — not the number paid in any given instalment. Instalment payments have run between roughly nine and ten crore, and the gap is made up of beneficiaries removed on eligibility checks, those whose Aadhaar seeding or land-record verification lapsed, and those found ineligible on the exclusion criteria. Saying farmers "are receiving" ₹6,000 annually describes the smaller number, not the larger one.
And the amount has not changed. ₹2,000 three times a year was set in February 2019 and is the same today. The 2024 promise commits to sustaining that, not raising it, so it cannot be called broken — but a fixed nominal sum loses value every year, and seven years of price rises have taken a substantial bite out of what ₹6,000 buys in seed, fertiliser and diesel. There is no indexation provision in the scheme.
One thing not to overlook: the design that excludes tenant farmers and landless cultivators, because eligibility rests on a land record, is unchanged in this term as well.
The term runs to 2029. Payments have continued as promised and the value of the payment has not. Our verdict is lacks context.

Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2633, Impact of PM-KISAN Scheme — answer by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
“The PM-KISAN scheme is a central sector scheme launched to supplement the financial needs of farmers with cultivable land-holding. Under the scheme, a financial benefit of ₹6,000/- per year is transferred in three equal instalments, into the Aadhaar seeded bank accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. Under the PM-KISAN Scheme, Government of India has disbursed over ₹4.47 lakh Cr. to the beneficiaries through 23 installments since inception of the Scheme. As per the impact evaluation study by the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) of NITI Aayog, the scheme is successfully fulfilling its primary function of providing direct financial assistance to farmers holding agricultural land, thereby enhancing their economic stability and agricultural productivity. The study also shows that over 92 percent of beneficiary farmers utilized the financial assistance for essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides… A major nationwide saturation drive was undertaken from 15th November 2023 under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), during which, more than 1 Cr. farmers were included under PM-KISAN.”
