Urban infrastructure mission launched in June 2015 — water supply, sewerage and septage, storm-water drainage, non-motorised transport and green spaces in mission cities. AMRUT 2.0, launched October 2021 with an outlay of ₹77,640 crore, targets functional tap-water coverage in all statutory towns and sewerage coverage in the 500 original cities.
Universal water-supply coverage in mission cities and, under AMRUT 2.0, functional tap-water connections in every statutory town with sewerage or septage management in the 500 AMRUT cities.
