Rural electrification scheme launched in December 2014, subsuming the earlier RGGVY — feeder separation of agricultural and domestic supply, strengthening of rural sub-transmission and distribution, and electrification of the villages the grid had not reached.
Electrify the 18,452 census villages recorded as un-electrified in August 2015 within 1,000 days; separate agricultural and domestic feeders; strengthen rural distribution infrastructure. A village counted as electrified when basic infrastructure reached it, public places had power, and at least 10 per cent of households were connected.
