Health assurance scheme launched from Ranchi in September 2018 — cashless hospital cover of ₹5 lakh per family per year, aimed at roughly 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (about 50 crore people) at launch. Ministry releases report over 34.7 crore Ayushman cards and more than 7 crore authorised hospital admissions by mid-2024.
