Urban housing scheme launched in June 2015 — central assistance through four verticals (beneficiary-led construction, affordable housing in partnership, in-situ slum redevelopment, and interest subsidy). The Ministry describes it as demand-driven with no fixed national target; its releases report 74.25 lakh houses completed by May 2023, and PMAY-U 2.0 was approved in 2024 for one crore additional families.
